Governance, Strategy and Quality Assurance
The İzmir University of Economics Office of Micro-Credentials (OMC) coordinates the design, development, approval, certification, and continuous enhancement of all micro-credentials and digital badges across the University. Through its governance framework and quality assurance processes, the Office ensures that every micro-credential is developed in a consistent, transparent, and sustainable manner.
Our governance framework is built upon four core principles:
Quality Assurance
Ensuring that all micro-credentials are designed, delivered, assessed, and continuously reviewed in alignment with the University's Internal Quality Assurance System and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
Strategic Alignment
Ensuring that micro-credentials support İzmir University of Economics' strategic priorities in education, internationalisation, lifelong learning, innovation, and graduate employability.
Transparency
Providing clear, accessible, and verifiable information on learning outcomes, assessment criteria, competencies achieved, and the metadata associated with each digital badge.
Continuous Enhancement
Regularly monitoring, evaluating, and improving micro-credentials through evidence-informed review processes, stakeholder feedback, and emerging educational and workforce needs.
Through this integrated approach, the Office of Micro-Credentials strengthens the credibility, recognition, quality, and long-term sustainability of İzmir University of Economics' micro-credential ecosystem at both the national and international levels.
